Although the cost of repairing a powerboard can run from $200 to $400 it is still less than purchasing a new TV. Unfortunately, it's not always possible to repair the TV's power boards. It is rare for companies to offer this type repair so you might have to purchase a brand new one.

CRT TV repair costs between $400 and $5,000

CRT TVs are not easy to repair. Depending on how big the TV is and what brand it is, prices can run from $400 up to $5,000. Some repair shops don't give estimates by brand, so you need to figure out a general price before visiting one. TCL, Pioneer and Vizio are some of the most common brands to be repaired. CRTs cost more to repair than other types, but this does not mean that they are difficult to repair.

How to Replace a Broken Window?

The most common home improvement task is to replace broken windows. This involves fixing any damage caused by the glass. The repair should take approximately 30 minutes. But if you do not know how to replace a broken pane of glass, then you risk causing further damage to the house. This article contains some tips to help you replace a damaged window.

First step: Take the glass out of its frame

First, take out all the screws that are holding the glass in place. Next, undo the lock in the middle of the bottom section. Next, move the window up slightly to remove it from the sill plate (the bar that runs below the floor). The last step is to gently loosen all remaining screws with a tool. After the panes have been removed from the window, clean them well.

Second step: Clean the new glass

To remove dirt and grime from the glass' surface, use a paper towel or dry cloth. A spray bottle filled with water, rubbing alcohol and water can be used to clean debris stuck beneath the glass.

The third step is to reinstall the glass

Then, attach the window panes back into the frames. With the tip of a screwdriver, push down on the bottom edge of the outermost window pane. Gently push down on the lower edge of the outermost pane with the tip of a screwdriver. After moving to the next one, push it firmly against your previous one before you reattach it. Continue inserting the windows until they are all assembled. Use a silicone caulk gun to seal the space where the panes meet.

Fourth step: Repair the damage

To determine if additional repairs are necessary, inspect the area surrounding the hole before installing the glass. In the event that the hole is located near the corner of your window, place two small pieces on either side of it. These wooden blocks will give strength to the window and act as spacers between the glass and the weatherproofing material.

Fourth step: Sealing the area

After the glass has been replaced, apply a bead of silicone caulking to the perimeter edges of the window frame. This will seal the glass to the wallboard. Silicone caulking can be purchased at hardware stores and online. You should choose a color to match the wall paint.

Let the caulking set overnight. Do not disturb the caulking until it has hardened completely. If you don't wait long enough, you could cause the caulking to crack when you remove it.
